Every year on the last Tuesday of February World Spay Day is held. This is to draw attention to spaying/neutering of domestic and community cats and dogs in a bid to save lives. It was created in 1995 in America and is now recognised by nearly 70 countries.
Both female and male cats should be neutered to prevent unplanned pregnancy, help prevent the spreading of diseases such as fiv, discourage straying and help prevent cancers.
