Linas cat rescue responded to a call from a member of public who whilst stopping in a lay by on the A50 to let his dog have a leg stretch and break had spotted a bag in the trees with at least two cats nearby.

A rescue mission found 4 young kittens and their mum in the immediate area. The kittens were caught but mum was evasive and scared however she was caught the next day in a humane trap.

The whole family is friendly and used to human contact. It is fortunate they were found, it was an isolated area near a very busy road and their futures would have been uncertain.

Her foster carer says:-

“Despite her ordeal Lizzie is a friendly, sweet natured young cat. She loves people and lets you know this by rubbing round your legs and purring loudly. She has been a brilliant mum to her kittens and is now starting to find her inner kitten again. She loves to play with a ball with a bell in it batting around the room! Lizzie enjoys sitting on the window sill watching the birds and the world go by. She also likes to snooze away on a chair”

Lizzie is neutered, microchipped and started her vaccinations as well as being up to date with flea and worm treatment.

Lizzie is being fostered in Borrowash, Derby
